The Fourth of July

The Fourth of July is always one of the Sweet familys favorite holidays.
Just about every year we go over to Luke's aunt and uncles for a huge family and friends pool party/cookout. By huge, there are always over 50 people there I would say. Here is a picture of just the "kids" this year..

These parties are so much fun. There are several volleyball games, swimming in the pool, and of course tons of great food. Isabelle had a blast with her cousins and was impressing the masses with her swimming skills..

After dinner we waited for it to get dark so we could all settle in for the fireworks. This was Isabelle's first year for fireworks outside so we were nervous, but she loved them..

Cousin Lovin

One of the best things about going to visit Indiana is that Isabelle gets to spend lots of quality time with her cousins. As soon as we got to town we had to meet up with Isabelle's best buddy cousin, Reese, at Mi Pueblo.

A few days later, Leighton came over for a while and him and Isabelle had a photo shoot..

Another play date with Reese...She loves playing with all his toys

There were lots of days and evenings spent playing and indulging in cold treats at Mamaw's with Leighton and Anna..

Playing catcher

And lets not forget all the fun times at the daycare..

The Forth of July brought more cousin lovin..

All and all Isabelle had an amazing summer with her cousins with more fun and memories than pictures :)

Holiday World

As a product of Southern Indiana, Holiday World has been an old standby for family fun for just about everyone I know. I love getting to relive my favorite childhood activities through my daughter. We took her to Holiday World last year, but it was terribly hot and she wasn't quite ready to tackle any rides so this year my mother, Tia (my brothers gf), and I gave it another go and it was a success!

Ready for a day of fun in the sun

We checked out all the rides online and found the ones that were age appropriate for Isabelle so we had no troubles knowing where to go as soon as we hit the gates.

Our first stop was in the Christmas area and Reindeer Games..

I think we rode about 4 different types of animals around in a circle...

Waiting in line
No trip to Holiday World is complete without a ride on the old fashion cars..

Big driver

Next we headed to the Hollidog area to cool off and have a snack...well we snacked and she cooled off :)

We hit up a few more rides, went to Splash and Safari, and then looked around the shops where Isabelle had to find herself something..

We had such a great time. We left hot, tired, full of fatty foods and excited to come back next year :)

Limited Edition Sweet Offspring Number 2

So, I know it has been awhile since a new blog, but I promise to have a good reason. The weekend of mothers day I received a beautiful gift...

The Sweets will be expecting baby number 2!! We were all so excited that we couldn't wait another 2 weeks to go back to Indiana, so we all jumped in the car and made it there by Mothers Day Sunday and shared the news with all our family...Best mothers day yet :)
