Halloween Countdown

We had big plans to go to several Halloween events this weekend. However, Florida weather had another plan in mind and that was rain...

Alll weekend long. Luke had a Halloween party to go to on Saturday, so I set him up with some creepy zombie make up...

Isabelle and I used this opportunity to get to work on our pumpkins and our ghost jugs {thanks pintrest}...

Someone snuck into the candy while we worked

Sunday came along and with it brought more rain. Isabelle decided she wanted to use some of the make up left over from daddys zombie look to make herself {or for me to make her} into a tiger...

Rawrrr

Next, we finished up our ghost jugs. These were really fun and easy for Isabelle to participate in the making of. We saved up milk jugs for a couple weeks and used a tutorial from pintrest to put them all together...

Proud of her work

After our little ghosts were all lined up, we got back to work on our pumpkins. Last year we made the mistake of actually carving our pumpkins, which we learned when you live in Florida, is NOT a good idea! It was molded and rotten in 2 days. So, this year we went for a different approach...

With all that hard work, we had worked up quite an appetite.    There is nothing better than a big pot of veggie soup after a soaking week weekend...

But really, what fun is veggie soup? So, we got busy on our next project for the day, Halloween cookies...

My side kick ready to bake

Stir it up

Roll it out

Bake them up

Add icing of course

After all that, it was bedtime. Isabelle and I were both pooped, but are ready for Halloween!! Bring it on...

Myers Family Visit

We had visitors this week! Yay! My in-laws came down from Indiana for a couple reasons. Reason number one... To use their awesome RV to bring our crib down for baby Jude {along with other essential items such as a highchair (thanks Rhi), our baby swing,Christmas decorations courtesy of my mom(thanks mom), and Isabelle's bike that she had to leave in Indiana over the summer} Reason number two...to visit with us of course! They got here on Sunday and Isabelle wasted no time and hopped right on her bike...

It was Sunday after all so we hung around our place and watched the Colts game while catching up on the patio. Monday we took it easy, swimming at the RV park, grilling out, and doing more visiting. Tuesday we did more of the same, but swam at our place instead...

The next day was our big day out! We went down to City place, which as you know if you frequent our blog, is one of our favorite places. Our first stop, Gymboree! Isabelle is such a little shopper and of course mamaw and papaw indulged her in some yellow and black duds...

We also found a little something for Jude and a warmer outfit for Iz to wear when we visit Indiana for Thanksgiving in a few weeks...

Next we went to BB Kings for some lunch and then to one of our other favorite spots, Sloans, for ice cream...

Vanilla with gummy bears and sprinkles for Iz

As if this all wasn't exciting enough, we headed downtown next for pedicures! Isabelle had never had a nail salon experience so we weren't sure what she would think. Well, she LOVED it! Papaw sat right next to her while she got both her fingers and toes done and mamaw and I relaxed near by getting pedi's ourselves...

She wanted blue to match her Blueberry Muffin costume that she would be wearing later that night

We headed back home to grab a quick bite and daddy before heading off to trunk or treat { for more on our trunk or treat night see our blog, Trunk or Treat}

Thursday we got down to a little business before our pleasure. My car has been acting up lately {taking entirely too long to start} so my always cautious father in-law decided we needed to get that checked out. Isabelle posed in one of her new outfits outside before we headed to Autozone...

After fixing my car problem, I needed a new battery, {Thanks Steve} we went to lunch then us girls headed to the beach for a while...

We all came back to our place, ordered pizza, and watched the World Series as our nice visit came to a close. We had such a great time and cant wait until they come to visit again after baby Jude it born :)
