Happy Birthday to Me

Yesterday was my uh uhm..27 birthday. Birthdays the past few years haven't exactly been exciting since we are away from our family and friends and Luke is often in the middle of tests during the week my birthday falls on. However, I lucked out this year! My birthday fell on a Friday so no studying for the hubby and Brecklyn was here and offered to watch Isabelle so we could get out and do something...The day started out great with beautiful fall like weather that reminded me of home. Then Brecklyn surprised me with an awesome cake...

Isabelle of course could not wait for Luke to get home to cut the cake so we lit a match, Iz and Breck sang to me, and she dug in...

On top of the cake, Brecklyn also got me my favorite breakfast from McDonalds {a sausage biscuit} and a beautiful balloon which of course Isabelle stole quickly...

Isabelle hid under the chair then popped out and yelled "Surprise" after I woke up then presented me with an amazing picture she colored for me while letting me sleep in a bit...

I also got several great cards from my family back home...

Since Brecklyn so generously offered to babysit, Luke and I had made plans to drive down to Pompano and stay the night at the Ocean Point Beach Resort when he got home from school. Not expecting him home until after 3, I was pleasantly surprised when he walked in just before lunch...and with a present :) ...

Luke had gotten me pearl earrings this past Valentines day and now a beautiful necklace to match { geez Im a lucky gal} I packed up in a hurry, to take advantage of the extra time we now had, then we headed off for our night out. We got to the hotel and I was surprised again when the hotel manager informed us we had been upgraded to a room with a better view { man this day just kept getting better}...

We threw down our bags, then went out for a walk on the beach to check the place out...

After all that walking we decided to stop at the tiki bar outside the resort and have a couple "drinks"...

I was bad and had a cherry coke with extra cherries :)

We headed back to our room to change our clothes for dinner then headed off to Chilis, which is one of my fav places to eat, where I had some ribs and shrimp..yumm. After dinner, we went back to the hotel where we were told there would be live entertainment going on. After realizing the entertainment consisted of a middle aged man and women singing songs of the culture club variety, I decided I would much rather go back to the room and watch dateline in my pjs...so that's what we did...

28 weeks

I woke up this morning relaxed and refreshed, drank my coffee, and looked out onto the ocean...

Best birthday ever :)
