Some of these I completed, like the linen closet and dresser drawers, and some I don't have or are already organized, computer desk and Tupperware cabinet.
My tupperware |
My "computer desk" |
New Ikea book shelf |
We got Isabelle this new bookshelf from Ikea mostly to house her books, which were in a box up against a wall before, but were able to use some of the extra shelves for toy storage...
I also moved the other toy shelf out of the closet and into her room to make space for other things in the closet...
This pretty much stayed the same but was moved to another wall |
I moved all of her dress up outfits, hats, purses jewelry and makeup into the corner by the window...
Then it was on to the closet...
All of the Diego play set pieces, and the animals and vet care center were put into red metal bins and pushed up against the wall...
Tea cart, stroller, shopping cart and vacuum find a home on the other wall |
Cars, tools, horses and Mr Potatos heads were moved onto this shelf |
Games and puzzles are places up high so parental assistance is needed before play |
Random large toys and legos find a home here with all things Barbie underneath |
Under the bedside table is for lap trays, some art supplies, and all of her favorite magazines and work books |
Day 3, Isabelle's movie storage. Prior to our new solution, all of her movies were in their cases on on the shelf where her games are now located. She as SO many movies that they were overwhelming the shelf and we needed to come up with something else. I removed and cleaned all the DVD's and then cut out the picture from the front of the cases. I placed the pictures into a CD carrying case and placed the corresponding DVD in front of it. We recycled all the cases when we were finished...
Day 4...The master bedroom. Our bedroom is the one room that almost always looks like a bomb went off in it. There are so many more important things to keep up with that is almost always gets neglected. I recently organized the master closet but the rest of the bedroom was a disaster, so I spent a day getting it in order {unfortunately I forgot to take a before picture}...
Day 5... Kids clothes. Since Isabelle's closet is full of toys, we keep her clothes in a dresser that doubles as our T.V. stand in our living room. Jude also has a couple drawers for clothes he can't wear yet...
I sorted through everything, getting rid of things that were to small or stained. I then organized all of Jude's clothes in his room by size, and long sleeved, short sleeved, pants, gowns, etc...
Day 6...The linen closet. This is the one project I actually have before pictures of. Isabelle had pulled out every sheet and blanket we had to make a fort one day, so everything basically just got shoved back into the closet...
Here is the before...
So, I started my emptying everything out...
The air mattress and feather bed found a new home under Jude's crib...
Then, I put all of Isabelle's extra sheet sets into their corresponding pillow cases and put them on the top shelf so she couldn't pull them out for fort building. This is also where I put the extra toilet paper and pillowcases...
All the pink baby blankets that were Isabelle's were put into Jude's closet for safe keeping...
The second shelf was for bath towels and hand towels...
The third for kids towels, wash clothes and floor towels {floor towels are what we put down to catch overflow from excited bath takers aka Isabelle}...
The bottom shelf was designated to blakets that Isabelle can have access to...
The after...
Ahhhh, much better. More organzing to come. I am determined to get it all done in the 21 day challenge window!
